The first week I had no response, and I was a little more skeptical about this approach than I was previously. However the following week I had about 40 to 50 responses, some by email, a small percentage by phone. Although, there was no opportunities at the time several companies liked my resume and wanted to keep it for future opportunities. Some companies even referred me to other companies that might be hiring. I was a little amazed, however I did not land a position yet. Then the mail started to flow in. I got hundreds of mail sent to my address, although most stated they didn't have an opportunity for me or not in my field. I was a little disappointed by the end of the month. "I ordered the service and must say that I'm overwhelmed…

I was a Recruiter, HR rep and Recruiting Consultant for many years before getting laid off in 2001. I got into the mortgage business hoping at some point to find the right spot back in my profession, but haven't been able to generate enough interviews to do so. It's been very disheartening. When I was recruiting, I can remember telling people that faxing a resume all over town was a bad idea. Boy was I WRONG! I got 9 interviews in two weeks, and am going back for seconds on 3 of them. I feel such a relief to have activity for positions that will pay me what I'm worth, to do things I'm capable of doing. Best of all, I know that very soon mortgages will be a nice little side business for me and my wife, but that I won't have to play the 100% commission game any more, or commit to learning and executing skills (sales) that I can perform, but am not hard-wired for.
